The RG-32 family of versatile utility vehicles is able to fulfil most roles demanding high levels of payload or capacity together with demanding crew survivability. The RG-32M is a new development in the successful RG-32 range, already deployed worldwide with peace-keeping forces, security forces and combat forces.
The RG-32M's ample payload and capacity enables it to fulfil a wide spectrum of command, liaison and scouting roles. Typically it would transport five 95 percentile crew members with their kit, combat stores and special purpose equipment for a 48-hour battlefield mission. Access and egress is through side doors and hatches, whilst armoured windows
afford excellent visibility.
High levels of tactical mobility, endurance and crew comfort are achieved by the Detroit Diesel VM Motori turbo-charged 6-cylinder diesel engine and Chrysler 4-speed automatic transmission. Three RG-32Ms can be transported simultaneously in a C130 aircraft for strategic mobility.
Crew and vehicle survivability is achieved through applied systems engineering techniques, utilisation of the Alvis OMC unrivalled knowledge base gained through service feedback from operations in Africa, Asia, Middle East and Balkans, as well as rigorous and systematic field-testing in South Africa, the UK, Sweden and
the Middle East.
The hull consists of an all-steel welded armoured monocoque citadel to which chassis sub frames are bolted.
The RG-32M uses commercial off-the-shelf components allowing a low crew training burden with minimal logistic footprint.
Basic levels of ballistic protection are against 7.62 x 51 mm NATO Ball and 5.56 x 45mm NATO Ball ammunition with further armour upgrades available.
RG-32M is also available with a full armoured body that stretches over the rear axle. This variant can seat up to nine crew members under armour.
