Development/Description

The 9K111M Faktoria (Russian for Trading Post) Semi-Automatic Command to Line of Sight (SACLOS) antitank guided missile system entered service in 1991 and is the latest version of the 9K111 Fagot (AT-4 'Spigot') system, developed by the Tula KBP Design Bureau for Instrument Building, to be built.

The 9M111M missile used in the system is also being built under licence by the Bulgarian Vazov Engineering Plant for export by Kintex (qv).

The 9M111M missile can be used with either the basic 9P135 or the improved 9P135M series firing posts in the man-portable role or, using the upper part of the firing post only on a small attachment post, in the vehicle-mounted role.

The 9M111M differs from the earlier 9M111 family variants primarily in having a 2.5 kg tandem High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) warhead arrangement to penetrate Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) packages.

The launcher can be fitted with the 1PN65 thermal imager which enables targets to be engaged at night out to the full range of the missile.
