Info
Manufacturer: Huta Stalowa Wola SA (HSW)
Product type: Armoured Vehicles
Name: Infantry fighting vehicle

A prototype of Borsuk IFV was first introduced at the MSPO 2017 defense industry exhibition in Poland.

The vehicle was designed to replace the outdated BWP-1 platform (Polish version of BMP-1) in the Polish armed forces.

The prototype was created as a proposal for the NPBWP platform (Nowy Pływający Bojowy Wóz Piechoty - New Amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicle), the customer of which is the National Center for Research and Development.

It is armed with a ZSSW-30 remote control turret, which is also developed and manufactured by HSW. It is assumed that this turret will be integrated both on the NPBWP Borsuk tracked platform and on the Rosomak wheeled.

The original powerpack for Borsuk was designed by the Poznań WZM plant No. 5. The drive is a 600 kW MTU diesel engine, coupled with an automatic transmission with 4 forward and 2 reverse speeds.

The vehicle is àmphibious. Weighs, depending on the version, from 24 to 30 tons.
