RUAG Land Systems is the business unit for land defence systems within the RUAG Group. Being a leading aerospace and defence company all business units take advantage of the versatile expertises and of the sharing of resources. The division addresses both users and system houses. RUAG offers upgrades and ballistic protection systems for armoured vehicles and mobile command posts. As an experienced integrator the company develops and produces the systems in-house and supplies comprehensive industrial logistics.

EMP-SHIELDED SHELTERS FOR COMMAND AND CONTROL

With a focus on high-tech command posts RUAG offers a selective range of shelters. They are designed in the ISO 20ft format and feature unique technology for a spacious operational environment and high level of protection against electronic warfare.

  • Expandable shelter 3:1

  • Expandable shelter 2:1 with or without EMP shielding

  • Standard format shelters with and without EMP shielding

BALLISTIC PROTECTION MEASURES FOR ARMOURED VEHICLES

Vehicle survivability is enhanced significantly due to the synchronisation of RUAG’s protective measures and the use of the latest protection technology. Very low weight and a compact design allow fitting wheeled light armoured vehicles as well as MBTs. RUAG teams with OEMs or acts as prime contractor to meet the customer’s requirements. The all-around protection range includes:

  • Side protection against RPG, EFP, KE, CE

  • Mine protection

  • Roof protection against bomblets

MODULAR UPGRADE PROGRAMME FOR LEOPARD 2 AND M109

By integrating the MBT Leopard 2 and the SPH M109 for the Swiss Armed Forces RUAG was able to gain substantial knowledge of the various vehicle platforms. Based on those skills RUAG developed and can now offer the following life extending programmes:

  • Leopard 2 A4 upgrade

  • Armoured engineer vehicles (based on Leopard 2 A4 chassis)

  • M109 upgrade

ADVANCED 120 MM RECOILED MORTAR SYSTEM

RUAG offers an advanced mortar system for all types of 120 mm NATO ammunition including STRIX. It features a semi-automatic loader and on-board navigation and positioning system. The mortar system is suitable for all tracked and wheeled vehicles.
