HORIBA MIRA – a world-leader in unmanned ground vehicle systems has displayed its state-of-the-art unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) platform, CENTAUR, at Eurosatory 2018 in Paris, France. The UGV can be integrated with various payloads including the detection of improvised explosive devices, remote surveillance and soldier support.

The CENTAUR platform is a variant of the VIKING platform developed by HORIBA MIRA for several recent years, which has been further developed in accordance with the Turkish requirements. A light, unmanned vehicle can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h. At the same time, its total weight is 2 tons, and its payload is 600 kg.

During the design of the robot, the elements of MAN (Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg) truck were used, which is in the arsenal of the British army, which reduces the logistic load during its operation.

The vehicle will be displayed at the stand of Katmerciler, the Turkish defence company, with whom HORIBA MIRA formed a consortium for UGV development last month.
