SOFRESA was set up 30 years ago by the French Ministry of Defence as a tool to boost export sales of the French Defence industry. As of today, nearly 20 per cent of worldwide French defence export sales have been finalised through SOFRESA.

SOFRESA operates in a unique close relationship with the French Government along with its other shareholders, which are majors in the aerospace, naval, land and electronics fields.

Its missions consist in marketing of defence equipment and systems, contracts negotiation, and after sales management. Additionally, SOFRESA can bring its expertise in the field of offsets, transfer of technology and know how, and specific financial schemes.

Its activity has been focused from the outset onto Middle East countries throughout a specific network of permanent offices. For the past ten years, SOFRESA has expanded its activities to new geographical areas.

SOFINFRA, a subsidiary of SOFRESA, is specialised in engineering and turnkey construction of both military and civilian infrastructures.The SOFRESA Group employs some 140 people in France and abroad.
