Data Device Corporation - High Reliability Data Networking Technology, COTS Products and Subsystems

Data Device Corporation (DDC) has cards, components, and software to fit all your MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, motion feedback technologies: synchro resolvers, motor drive and SSPC/RPC requirements.

As the industry leader in MIL-STD-1553 and commercial avionics data bus products we have continued to extend our data-networking portfolio to include technologies that are critical in modern military applications.

The vast amounts of data that need to be exchanged between vehicles, systems, and boards within a system have increased significantly in the past decade. DDC's new products continue to meet the demand for larger bandwidths and faster serial communication technologies. These include military needs such as reliability, determinism, low CPU utilization, real-time performance, and ruggedness within harsh environments.

Our products cover a flexible range of performance and cost requirements. Moreover, we maintain software compatibility among different products and generations to protect our customers' investments in software development, system testing, and qualification of the end product.

FIBRE CHANNEL NETWORK INTERFACE CONTROLLER (NIC) AND FIBRE CHANNEL SWITCH

The newest additions to our product line are the Fibre Channel Network Interface Controller (NIC) and the Fibre Channel Switch. These products were developed using in-house intellectual property independent of the life cycles of commercial devices. They are conduction cooled and designed for extended temperature ranges without upscreening. Our Fibre Channel products are designed for real-time operating systems and upper layer protocols used in military applications. Special features include dual channels, autonomous fail-over, loop healing, ASM and FC-AE-1553 protocols.

ULTIMATE FLEXIBILITY WITH ADDITIONAL FORM FACTORS, SOFTWARE AND DRIVERS

DDC supplies MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429 board level products in a variety of form factors. These include ISAbus, PCI, PCMCIA, PMC, cPCI, PC/104, and VME/VXI boards. We provide board level products that can be used in both laboratory simulation and in-flight environments. These include single-function 'communication' boards, as well as high-end tester / simulator boards to support system integration and production test environments. In addition, we supply software in the form of menus, libraries, and drivers.

MIL-STD-1553 COMPONENTS, INTERFACE SOLUTIONS AND DATA BUS PRODUCTS

Our extensive line of military and space grade components provide MIL-STD-1553 interface solutions for microprocessors and simple systems. We continue to set the pace as the leading supplier of MIL-STD-1553 data bus products. This lead is strengthened by DDC's introduction of the industry's first 3.3V Mini-ACE™ Mark3, and the first 66MHz MIL-STD-1553 cards. Other new Data Networking products include Enhanced Bit Rate (EBR) 1553 cards, MIL-STD-1553 ACE-Core IP, and innovations in the area of MIL-STD-1553 transceivers and complete solutions. DDC also developed the standard Enhanced Mini-ACE, PCI Enhanced Mini-ACE, Simple System RT, and 5V-powered space-grade components.

WORLD LEADER IN SYNCHRO / RESOLVER INSTRUMENT GRADE CARDS AND CONVERTERS

DDC offers a complete line of synchro / resolver instrument grade cards including angle position indicators and simulators plus a variety of hardware and software to meet today's (COTS / MOTS) requirements. Form factors include PCI, PMC, PC/104, ISA, VME and VXI cards along with software to support Windows® 95/98/2000, Windows NT®, Linux®, LabView®, VxWorks®, and others.

Moreover, DDC is the world's leading supplier of synchro / resolver-to-digital and digital-to-synchro / resolver components-the smallest, most accurate converters available, and the building blocks for DDC's card level products. Most of these single chip and hybrid converters are based on custom monolithic designs, yielding the most reliable converters ever offered.

PREMIER MANUFACTURER OF HYBRID MOTOR DRIVES AND CONTROLLERS

Controlling movement and positioning in motion control systems requires components that can accurately control the power flowing through the motor. Our new motor controller board, the Python™, provides a flexible, easy-to-use graphical user interface that allows users to tune a variety of motors quickly. It's designed to meet the needs of military, aircraft, and industrial applications including harsh environments.

DDC is the premier manufacturer of hybrid motor drives and controllers for brush, 3-phase brushless, and induction motors-operating from 28Vdc to 270Vdc requiring up to 64Kw of power. A wide range of applications include aircraft actuators for primary and secondary flight controls, jet or rocket engine thrust vector control, missile flight controls, pumps, fans, solar arrays, and momentum wheel control for space and satellite systems. Motor drives for space applications are rated up to 100k Rads for radiation hardness. We also offer custom motor controllers and motion control systems to satisfy specific requirements not addressed by standard products.
