During the fighting in Chechnya the Russian Army lost large numbers of armoured vehicles in urban fighting, including BMP type infantry combat vehicles. For trials purposes it is known that a BMP-3 infantry combat vehicle has been fitted with ERA on the hull front. As far as it is known this has yet to enter widespread service.
