LAV-30

Info
Manufactured by: GM Defence - Delco Defense Systems Operations
Type: Turrets
Name: Turret

GM Defense Delco Systems' LAV-30 turret is a complete two-man turret for tracked and wheeled light armored vehicles (LAVs). Evolved from the combat-proven LAV-25 turret, the LAV-30 turret provides modern fighting capability for today's battlefield challenges.

GM Defense has long been a world leading supplier of light armored vehicle turret systems. The combat-proven LAV-25 turret experience enabled GM Defense to produce this next generation light armored 30mm turret. The LAV-30 turret is an advanced system designed for ground and helicopter engagements while providing the crew with protection against small arms.

The LAV-30 turret is easy to operate and highly reliable. The system integrates turret drive and controls, sights, and weapons for fire-on-the-move capability. Both commander and gunner have ready access to all turret functions.

The main weapon of the LAV-30 turret is a rapid-firing chain-fed 30mm MK-44 cannon. The secondary weapon is a 7.62mm machine gun aimed coaxially with the 30mm cannon. Pintle-mounted weapon options include a 7.62mm or customer-specified machine gun.

Available sights include high-quality direct view optics, image intensifiers, and second generation thermal sights. Sights and weapons are stabilized providing for fire-on-the-move capability with very high accuracy. Fire control options include a displaced reticle, director, or director with auto-tracker. Periscopes provide additional situation awareness.
