The 8V-92TA at 550 hp powers the Cadillac Gage Stingray light tank which has been sold to Thailand. The 8V-92TA automotive engine powers the US Army HEMTT (8 x 8), US Marine Corps LVS (8x8) trucks and M1070 (10 x 10) Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) and Palletized Loading System (PLS) trucks for the US Army. In addition it powers tanks, fire trucks, crash/fire/ rescue vehicles and boats.
One of the more recent production applications of the Detroit Diesel 8V-71 TTA engine rated at 650 hp is the Israeli Achzarit Mk 1, heavy infantry fighting vehicle. The Achzarit Mk 2 is powered by the Detroit Diesel 8V-92TA diesel rated at 850 hp.
