To help them meet their future mission requirements, modern armed forces need a small mobile robot ("MobRob"), capable of carrying out a variety of tasks, especially reconnaissance missions. As always, force protection is a prime concern. Deployed in connection with the Fennek reconnaissance vehicle, the Foxbot mobile robot is used for monitoring, observing and security tasks. Foxbot is furnished with acoustic and optical reconnaissance equipment (day sight and non-cooled infrared).Partially supported by semi autonomous functions, the operator controls the robot from the Fennek using the video imagery generated by the drive camera. This can be done from as far away as two kilometres, terrain permitting.
