Description The Mauser MK 25 mm x 137 gas-operated gun was originally developed as a replacement weapon for the German Henschel Wehrtechnik Marder 1 IFV, currently mounting a 20 mm Rheinmetall Rh 202 Teannon. It has the same design and operating principles as the Mauser MK 30 which is covered in detail in a separate entry. The Mauser MK 25 fires the standardised 25 mm x 137 ammunition and uses a double belt feeder. The gun can be dismantled to its five main components (barrel, receiver, feeder, recoil system, bolt) without special tools. As of mid-1999, there were no production applications for this weapon. Status Development complete and ready for production. Can be fitted in KUKA one- and two-man turrets and lightweight navy turrets.
