RO Defence was selected in July 2002 by the UK MoD to design, develop and manufacture the Terrier CEV, the next generation air-transportable armoured combat engineer vehicle for the Royal Engineers. The requirement, for 65 CEV's, is for a wide utility vehicle with reduced logistic support requirements that will support both the current force structure and the future with FRES (Future Rapid Effects System).
Terrier offers deployment versatility on active service missions or in essential support to peacekeeping and humanitarian operations:
• Clear and marks routes
• Digs defensive positions
• Prepares or clears obstacles
• Ensures maximum operational flexibility and availability
• Crew friendly environment
• Minimised requirement for logistic support
