Akers Krutbruk Protection AB is, since autumn 2002, a member of the IBD (Deisenroth Engineering) family which gives the company a strong position to meet the future within the area of Survivability technologies.

The process of achieving a balanced overall Survivability concept has to balance the different sub-areas within the total Survivability area as well as within each sub-area itself, where the emphasis today, especially in international operations, is generally on direct protection measures (ballistic protection, mine protection) as well as measures to increase the Survivability awareness.

Akers Krutbruk Protection AB's products and services to the Survivability area include programme management of Survivability concepts, ballistic and mine protection for modular armour systems, warhead development and production, armour systems testing, signature management and NBC protection integration.

With a baseline in the ISO 9001 quality assurance program Akers Krutbruk Protection AB develops, produces and adapts the latest advances in know-how, materials, technologies and production in our armour systems to achieve and offer the best overall balanced Survivability concepts to meet the future.

Akers Krutbruk Protection AB can provide the following products and services within the Survivability area:

  • PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT OF SURVIVABILITY CONCEPTS

Akers Krutbruk Protection AB offers services to head Survivability programmes to balance the overall concepts as well as consultant services and analysis (including modelling/simulation and measuring services) within the different sub-areas of ballistic protection, mine protection and signature management.

  • BALLISTIC PROTECTION

Akers Krutbruk Protection AB performs development, production and integration of modular armour systems to meet present and futuristic scenarios for different platforms (personnel, land vehicles, naval vessels and aircrafts).

  • MINE PROTECTION

Akers Krutbruk Protection AB performs development, production and integration of modular armour systems as well as documentation and education for Survivability awareness to meet present and futuristic scenarios.

  • REFERENCE AMMUNITION AND OTHER CHARGES

Akers Krutbruk Protection AB performs development and production of warheads, including tandem shape charge warheads and mines, for the static testing of armour systems according to specified criteria and standards. Charges for EOD and other purposes can also be produced.

  • TEST FACILITIES

Test sites for the standardised testing of armour systems with KE (fragments and projectiles), SC (shape charge warheads) and mines are available within the premises.

  • SIGNATURE MANAGEMENT

As a party of the overall Survivability area, measures to decrease the signatures of the platform in a specific environment can be balanced together with other measures within the concept of the armour system.

  • NBC PROTECTION INTEGRATION

In addition to other measures to increase the Survivability of personnel, we can also integrate NBC and other protection systems.
