Scout 2 is a new generation of the proven RG-32 Scout that is in worldwide service with peacekeepers. Scout 2 offers class-leading ballistic and mine protection together with global supportability and low life-cycle costs. Its benign and modern appearance makes Scout 2 an ideal vehicle for peacekeeping, police and security operations. Good ground clearance and selectable 4x4 drive enables Scout 2 to operate effectively on worst tracks, as well as tarmac roads.
Scout 2's compact and low mass superstructure allows it to be operated by drivers holding a standard motor vehicle licence. The Scout 2 consists of two main versions the 5-seater Mine Hardened Patrol Vehicle (MHPV) and a 7-seater Estate with common drivetrain and controls. Each
version's internal layout can be custom-built or modified to serve as an asset-in-transit vehicle, escort or VIP transporter, as well as for a variety of military, paramilitary, police and peace-keeping applications. Scout 2 is fitted with a 6-cylinder water-cooled, turbo-charged diesel engine which is linked to an automatic transmission. Scout 2 has a simple, functional cab layout and instrumentation. Crew protection in the hull consists of an all-steel welded armoured monocoque capsule to which chassis and subframes are bolted. The crew compartment is fitted with a tropical roof and air-conditioning, enhancing crew comfort.
The driver's position has been ergonomically designed for optimum functionality and minimum fatigue.
